WebJan 9, 2013 · I have been busy playing with the chrominids and Reds wool jigs. Upon studying the chrominids a little closer I discovered that the actual body of the fly is really thin. So on the newer ones I just covered the hook with thin thread and glazed with Clear Cure Goo Hydra. Also used beads , feathers and chenille to give a head on some. WebFly fishing with Chrominids just off the bottom in the areas 16-22 feet deep (aka the deepest areas in the middle of the lake). Fished from around 1-5pm, 2 of us from kayaks. Caught and released 10+ each, but only 3 total >10”, all others averaging around 6-8”.
